14DTE
The Turbo Terror and 14DTE looking good
This weekend started with one disaster after another. Firstly I had a long day finishing in Port at 10pm then the drive back to Cairns. I left my phone behind in the depot!! This then resulted in me not getting the text from Jaylea the next before 6am asking to meet her and Dean at Portsmith fuel instead of Macca’s Worree. So here is stupid waiting at Macca’s. Macca’s had their registers go down as I arrived at 6am so no food no phone!!! So I waited till 6.40am and thought I should start south, thankfully just then Macca’s got there registers up so I got food and more importantly a large Coffee and took off south.
I thought if I kept my eye out I would sooner or later find them along the way. I hit the rain in Innisfail and it stopped just as I got to the road works. All I could think about was how dirty the car was getting etc. Back came the rain heading out of Cardwell and still no Dean or Jaylea. I hit Ingham and sat at the first set of lights for what seemed like an eternity then as I started passed Macca’s who should be out the front smoking but Jaylea and the Turbo Terror. Then I hear Deans Tail of wo He also had had a long day on the Friday, the mighty B double decided coming in the Tully on the way home that that was as far as it wanted go and stopped at the JAT depot in Tully. Poor dean had only had a couple of hours sleep and here we were in Ingham. So after Commiserating with each other of we headed on the last leg finally getting to their Hotel so Jaylea could meet up with her bowling team. Dean and I headed off to find some were to clean the cars. We found a Girls Basket Ball Team car wash so in we went. $6 and they even chamois the cars for us (but we had to detail them a little bit more, you know how it is).
So we finally headed off to the show. It only took us a couple of minutes and there we were. Finish of the cars and go see everyone, Cameras in hand Dean and I wondered around having a ball. Lots of the Townville members to talk to, lots of cars and the food prices kept coming down. After several hours the show came to a conclusion and Dean and I headed of up the road to stir, sorry cheer on Jaylea in her quest to make the State tenpin bowling team. Jaylea was looking somewhat tired by the time arrived in so Dean and I tried to cheer her up, we finally got her smiling and she was still in the hunt for the final result that would come on Sunday.
So off we when in search of a drink and food as we were in need of both. I left Jaylea and Dean early and headed off to the Billabong for the night.
After a good night’s sleep it was time for me to head back home. Rain again this time from the lookout before Cardwell all the way to Innisfail.
To all the Townsville people thank you for making us welcome, as always it was good to see you all, we have to do this more often.
To Dean and Jaylea thanks’ your company made to weekend.
Jaylea finished second after the last rounds on Sunday and has made the State Ten Pin Bowling Team to play in Adelaide later in the year. Way to go Jaylea.
